The CM2 Side Scan Sonar system builds on the success of the CM800, but is almost entirely new. Amongst the tow cable options that the CM2 still offers is a 3.2mm tow cable, but now this option is an electrical-only type carrying towfish power as well as signal, instead of the CM800 fibre optic cable. The CM2 uses no towfish batteries.
The basic features of CM2 are following:
l         The choice of single or dual frequency digital towfish, operating at 102kHz, 325kHz or 780kHz; all powered down the cable.
l         A one-piece Data Acquisition Unit incorporating all transceiver, control and recording functions
l         The C-MAX MaxPro software gives a full complement of display, recording, editing, marking, annotation, measurement, remote data entry, and instant access replay facilities; also interfaces to external processors
l         Towfish interface and telemetry may interface with other internal or external sensors
l         Interface with ROV umbilical digital telemetry, owns mosaic function.
l         Resolution: 39mm-EF, 78mm-HE, 156mm-LF
l         Working depth: 0-2000m
